See what Kante said after been named PFA player of the year
Ngolo Kante, the Chelsea midfield powerhouse who was named PFA player of the year ahead of Tottenham striker Harry Kane and Everton’s marksman Romelu Lukaku for the prestigious award, has expressed delight on the achievement reached.
The midfielder who could be the first player to win two consecutive premier league titles with two different teams – should Chelsea win the title this season – had this to say about his coach, Antonio Conte, after been named Player of the year by the Professional Footballers’ Association (PFA).
“He knows what he wants from the players,” said Kante. “He wants to win, and we work very, very, very hard in training for him. He put a winning mentality into the squad, and everyone wants to give their best for the team, and to make Chelsea win titles.”
On the feasibility of the blues side winning both the FA cup title, and the premier league too, Kante expressed a believe that they will.
“We’re going to fight for both competitions,” said Kante. “The cup is just one game, and the league six games, and we’re going to give our best to win these two competitions.”
Another midfield maestro and Chelsea legend, Frank Lampard, also laid his opinion bare and explains why kante is the best midfielder in the world on current form.
“I’d go as far to say that he’s (Kante) the best central midfield player in the world on current form,” former England and Chelsea great Frank Lampard told the BBC.
“Looking at the way he’s performing this year, he may not be scoring lots of goals but what he’s giving to the team in the way he’s playing, the driving force that he is, I cannot see anyone else out there in world football better than him at the moment.”
